Once the kids are grown, you get used to a certain level of quiet and order and cleanliness. At first, you mourn the loss of your children and all the sports and friends and the general hubbub of having an active family. Then you wake up one day, realizing that after you cleaned up the kitchen it actually stayed clean. And you only have to wash one set of sheets instead of four. And the total at the grocery counter no longer takes your breath away. And you no longer worry who is doing what, when, and where. It is at those moments you realize that having an empty nest isn't so bad after all.

The last time we were together was in Stillwater, just before my wedding. You were visiting your parents. You had two precious little girls.

Do you remember visiting - where was it - Ponca City? at your grandparent's house. Heather was a baby. Was it Thanksgiving time?

A weekend in February 2010. Our time!

Melvin
